Position
Summary:
Under the supervision of a
Physician, the Physician Assistant (PA) will apply sound medical principles,
methods, and techniques to deliver comprehensive occupational and urgent care
services. The PA will diagnose and treat work-related injuries and a range of
urgent care conditions, while collaborating with medical staff and leadership
to enhance quality of care, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical evaluation and treatment for
occupational and urgent care illnesses and injuries, within the PA’s scope
of practice and delegated authority of the supervising physician.
- Document all patient encounters in compliance with
company policies and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with medical and administrative staff to
ensure coordinated, high-quality care and superior customer service.
- Support management in identifying and resolving
workflow or clinical challenges.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to current clinical
practices and procedures.
- Adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations,
as well as company policies.
- Ensure quality assurance in clinical care and help
address any medical issues as they arise.
- Uphold strict patient confidentiality standards at all
times.
- Communicate staff concerns, suggestions, or complaints
to the Medical Director.
- Assist in training and educating clinical staff on
policies and best practices.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and
maintain required certifications and affiliations.
Qualifications:
- Current California Physician Assistant License.
- Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
- BLS and/or ACLS certification (as required).
- Experience in occupational medicine or urgent care
preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving
skills.

Requirements:
Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of medical practices related to
occupational health, including the diagnosis and treatment of work-related
injuries and illnesses.
- Familiarity with applicable medical policies, state and
federal regulations (including OSHA and FMCSA), and clinical procedures.
- Proficient in the use of medical equipment and ability
to follow clinical protocols and instructions accurately.
- Strong documentation skills, including the ability to
maintain accurate records, write detailed reports, and respond effectively
to correspondence.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to
detail and accuracy.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills for
interacting with patients, coworkers, and stakeholders in a clinical
setting.
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant
program.
Certification
& Licensure:
- Current certification by the National Commission on
Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Active, unrestricted Physician Assistant license
in the state of employment.
- NRCME certification
(National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners) required or ability to
obtain upon hire.
Experience:
- Prior clinical experience in Occupational Medicine,
Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or General
Practice preferred.
